Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have references?
Yes. We don’t post names and phone numbers online, but we would be happy to provide a list of references upon request.

Why should we use C.A.C. Construction Ltd. as our Builder or General Contractor?
We undertake one project at a time so that we can avoid the costly and unnecessary delays caused by scheduling conflicts and labour shortages. We believe that an underlying foundation of trust between the Homeowner and the Builder is essential when constructing a new home or undertaking a renovation.

How much?
Good question! “How much” is difficult to summarize because no two projects are the same. The exterior style as well as the level of interior finishes will affect the price of a new home. In today’s market, you should budget for a minimum of $195 per sq. foot of finished area. Costs for unfinished areas such as garages and basements can be as low as $65 per sq. foot. Additions to existing structures should be budgeted at approximately $215 per sq. foot. Please keep in mind that these dollar amounts are provided for general information purposes.

How Long?
The time necessary to construct a 3,000 sq. foot home is approximately 7 months. The design and permitting stage usually adds another 4 to 6 months.

What happens in the event of a call back after the project is finished?
Although rare because of our stringent standards, call backs due to the fundamental nature of wood as a building material can sometimes happen. We offer the following in-house warranties: 6 months – Materials & Labour. 5 years – Building Envelope. 10 Years – Structural.

How much lead time do you need?
We appreciate being involved from the very beginning of the design stage. With our experience we can provide many practical suggestions to enhance the design of your new home or renovation as well as help reduce costs.
